I recently installed a 100 mbps fiber connection and it functions perfectly across all devices except two laptops running Windows with the same Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174A Wi-Fi card. On one laptop using Pop-OS (Ubuntu), I consistently achieve 110-120 Mbps during downloads, while speed tests on Windows show only around 25 Mbps. I've tried several fixes: resetting network settings, changing wireless modes, performing a clean boot, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, but nothing resolved the issue. Also, both laptops use 5 GHz and support AC Wi-Fi, giving ample bandwidth. Local file transfers are slow—around 16-17 Mbps using a phone hotspot, compared to 200 Mbps via the router. From what I see, the problem isn't with Windows or my router, since I get solid speeds there too. It seems the issue lies elsewhere.
sadly none of that worked WMM was already on and there is no option for no acknoledgement There is no ECO mode on this router already tried lowering rts didnt work i live in a suburb-ish area and used wifi analyzer, found out there is only 1, 5 ghz signal near my house 5 ghz frequency is already 80 mhz
The speeds on 2.4Gb are generally fast, offering high data transfer rates suitable for streaming, large file downloads, and online gaming.
Previously, the system restricted Wi-Fi speeds to 50 Mbps on Windows 8.1, but on other machines it ran smoothly at around 110 Mbps. Reinstalling the OS seemed necessary to fix the issue.
Networking on Windows has become quite unstable lately. I’m not facing major issues, but both wired and wireless connections are slowed down in Windows across all PCs, though it works better in Linux, even after reinstalling Windows.
