is the internal wifi connection functioning properly? you mentioned it sometimes shows as connected but lacks internet, while other devices work fine. occasionally disconnecting and reconnecting helps, but disconnections can also prevent the laptop from seeing any networks at all for a while. turning off and re-enabling the adapter seems to speed up this issue. your system appears to be using an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 operating system with Windows 10.

It often occurred with me. It resolved on its own.

this was around £1200, it's a Clevo P170sm-a (i7 4710HQ GTX 970m 6GB). The wireless is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i’ve used it for about two or three years now. I wouldn’t expect the adapter to be malfunctioning right away (though it runs nonstop, and I’ve had to replace the CPU fan twice due to bearing issues).

Looking for a particular WiFi card? Performance tends to decline after multiple driver updates.

I faced the same issue too. Consider turning off the proxy.

There might be a compatible Wi-Fi card, but it depends on your laptop model. It seems to be a small PCIe-E type device, and since your machine only has MSATA slots, you’d need something that fits there. Check Amazon UK for options that match your specific laptop make and model.

The local computer shop offered me the Atheros AR 9287 for £15. It feels a bit too cheap, though. Is it worth it? Also, it doesn’t seem to be a dual-band model.

Intel wireless performs better than the Atheros version. Consider reinstalling it and updating the drivers.
