Since I switched my default password to my Wi-Fi, posting on this forum has become very difficult. I’m forced to type what I mean before pressing submit. Even though my computer says I’m connected and everything’s working, I’m curious if it’s mixing up passwords because I haven’t updated the gateway name.

I checked the network configurations and removed the prior connections to test whether the problem stemmed from a mismatch between the network name and password. If this resolves the issue, does it suggest that the original password remained unchanged within the Mac OS settings?

You're experiencing typical performance hiccups on macOS Catalina. It's not uncommon for older systems to feel sluggish, especially when web usage strains resources. This issue can often be resolved with updates or optimizations. It's like the system is trying to keep up with its own demands!

You purchased a machine priced over $2400 for web browsing? Probably not unless your Wi-Fi router or MacOS’s Wi-Fi feature has serious issues… just try “disconnecting” the network on your Mac, updating the password, and then reconnecting.

It was a $4,000 device that turned out to be mostly for browsing the web. (I’ll move on to another subject about this later.) The network settings seemed to function, but once I submitted something, it would suddenly stop working and display 'not connected.'

It seems like you're comparing macOS to Windows, noting that macOS might have some issues. You mentioned having better experiences on Windows.

Notice, I've experienced some unusual issues with my computers. That's another reason I'm focusing on learning more about this.

There are individuals truly seeking assistance, while others aim to create trouble. You're currently caught between needing support and figuring out what to share or keep private.
