I own a 500mbps connection and two routers. The new ISP’s router is a Huawei 2-in-1 device that also acts as a modem, while the other is a TP-link model I previously owned to replace my old ISP’s unit. Both routers are connected in a chain. My TP-link is set to access point mode and extends coverage where the Huawei isn’t reachable. At first, occasional slowdowns appeared—just brief lags lasting only seconds. These didn’t affect my laptop or phone much. Recently, however, the situation worsened significantly. The connection would suddenly drop entirely, making my phone unable to load anything online. When I tried to play Just Cause 3 on my laptop, the game paused because it couldn’t reach its servers, forcing me into offline mode repeatedly during sessions. This has become extremely frustrating. I’ve adjusted some router settings before, but I’m unsure how to modify DNS or other configurations properly. Could you offer some advice? Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Please verify the network configurations. Your Huawei internal IP is set to 192.168.0.1. The TP-Link should connect via the "LAN" port from your Huawei to the LAN port on the TP-Link. Ensure your TP-Link IP address is changed from 192.168.0.1 to another value, such as 192.168.0.3. Also check if wired connections function correctly while you experience wireless issues.

I assume both routers are set to separate channels. Keep in mind that a channel can be as wide as 160MHz, but it's usually safer to stick with 80MHz for better performance and channel flexibility.

The internal IP for Huawei is 192.168.100.1, while the TP-link's internal IP is 192.168.100.7 configured in AP mode and linked to the WAN port. I haven't explored wired connections yet.

On the wireless connection, speeds range from 50 to 80 Mb/s at best. My fiber internet is 500 Mbps, and I’m aware that the TP-Link AX-50 typically offers about 300 Mbps. This performance is significantly lower than expected.

It seems you want to connect the TP-link to the LAN port and ensure DHCP is turned off on the router if it's set to AP mode.

Use a LAN port on the TP-Link as an uplink for the Huawei.

It is connected via the LAN port. I’ll attempt to disable DHCP on the TP-Link.

I'm using a simple USB Wi-Fi adapter that operates at 2.4 GHz. I plan to switch to a TP-Link TX50 to see if it boosts the connection speed a bit. Up until now, some issues have been resolved, but they haven't disappeared completely.
