WiFi issues on Debian with your Macbook Debugging connectivity problems on a Debian system on a Mac.
I'm trying to set up Debian on my old MacBook, but the Wi-Fi isn't working. I've searched online but haven't found a solution. My adapter is a Broadcom BCM 4360, and I need the right drivers for Linux. I'm using GNOME and want guidance on getting it connected properly. Since I can't access the internet myself, I have a PC with a connection and a USB stick to help transfer files. Could someone share links to the correct drivers and explain how to make Wi-Fi work?
The 4360 requires the exclusive Broadcom WL driver. https://wiki.debian.org/wl For offline setup, you can trace the dependency hierarchy of each package and determine the correct installation sequence. It will be easier to link it with Ethernet or connect a device like your phone.
You're seeing this because the system restricts access to certain files on your machine. The warning is about the `/etc/apt/sources.list` file, which contains package information. Make sure you have the right permissions or that the file exists in the expected location.
I resolved that problem, but now I have another one. It asks me to place a disk labeled 'Debian GNU/Linux 12.4.0 _Bookworm_ - Official amd64 DVD Binary-1 with firmware 20231210-17:57' in the folder '/media/cdrom/'. I don’t know what that path means or how to do it.
Consider using a different distribution if needed. Follow these steps: 1- pick the first choice and join your Wi-Fi. If successful, watch a YouTube video. If that works, press the install button. Let MX handle the rest.
