You can connect the PC to Wi-Fi without a built-in chip by using a USB Wi-Fi adapter. A PCIe X1 card isn’t necessary unless you need extra performance. Just plug the adapter into your motherboard and follow the instructions.

I've faced few issues with USB adapters, but be cautious of some Netgear models that ship without a disk. I had to install the driver on my phone and then upload it to my PC. Also, verify the adapter speeds—ethernet cables are always recommended for optimal performance.

I've experienced excellent results with TP-Link WiFi cards. My Archer T8E continues to work well and delivers strong internet speed. It might be worth considering the T6E instead, though it could exceed your budget. https://www.newegg.com/tp-link-archer-t6...6833704274

The issue occurred after I relocated my PC close to the router. I connected a 6-foot Ethernet cable in that setup and started testing speeds.
