Hey everyone, just settled into a new home with a 3-story building and a 3000sqft space. My old Wi-Fi router is acting up—crashes often and doesn’t stay online. I’m using a Netgear R7000p, but it’s already had the guest network turned off and QoS disabled. Any advice on fixing this router or picking a better one that won’t cause problems? Thanks!

This refers to unexpected interruptions or failures in the Wi-Fi connection on a router. It happens when the network stops working properly, often due to hardware issues, software glitches, or interference.

WiFi is visible, yet no connections happen until I restart the router. Or connections appear but the status stays offline until I reboot again.

It seems the issue is increasing significantly, possibly due to your ISP or the cable connecting to your modem.

It seems like you're looking for a fresh Wi-Fi router, but your question got a bit off track. Could you clarify what you mean by "firmware update" and when you last updated your router? That way, I can give you the most helpful advice.

I don't have a preference, but I can suggest some popular options based on your needs.

We begin with a firmware update to address the disconnection problem. If that doesn’t resolve it, let’s discuss your budget for a new router.

Relaxed vibe. I’m working from home all the time and run an unraid server, so internet is super important to me. That’s why the past week has been really great haha!
