Wifi Help
Here’s what I’m going to gather but I’m unsure about the next steps. The router isn’t close to where I plan to install it and my motherboard lacks a PCIe key slot. Thanks! PCPartPicker is the list type, item price is listed, CPU details are provided, motherboard cost shown, RAM price appears, SSD cost is mentioned, graphics card is noted, power supply info included, and final total is given.
The Mobo requires a PCIe key slot for Wi-Fi only if it includes built-in support. Purchase a full-size PCIe card designed for Wi-Fi. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/wirele...work-card/ Edited October 26, 2020 by SlashedM added link
You could run a long cable or use a Wi-Fi card that fits the 1x slot. A USB adapter might also work. This setup is from Overclockers and uses the ASUS PCE-AC88 dual-band wireless AC3100 PCIe adapter. It’s pricier but offers the best performance. In my old house with stone walls, drilling isn’t possible.
