WiFi connection disappears quickly on Windows 10
This problem began today after I updated my computer. My internet was stable last night but now I frequently lose connection, especially during games. All other devices are functioning normally, and my PC remained stable until the overnight update. I performed a network reset but saw no improvement. A ping test revealed repeated timeouts and significant packet loss. I suspect the issue might be related to Windows 10 rather than my network adapter, since it worked before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It's not feasible to use Ethernet since the router is out of reach, and your PC is on the other side.
The primary issue is the router being too distant. You can relocate it closer to your PC and connect via Ethernet.
You might have thought I would have tried it, but there’s no phone line for the router upstairs. As mentioned earlier, everything functioned perfectly until now without any connection problems. All my other devices are also working fine.
Online gaming consumes a lot of WiFi bandwidth, right? Do you enjoy playing online games or multiplayer titles? These types of games really take up your WiFi.
Consider adjusting your router's antenna placement. Someone mentioned that interference from other Wi-Fi networks can occur if they use the same channels.
I remember seeing similar issues on this forum earlier. Probably the update triggered the problem. Restart the PC and your Wi-Fi router. If it still doesn’t resolve it, verify the Windows Update manually, then install any missing patches, apply them, and restart again.
