I'm a photographer with some events happening off-site without Wi-Fi. I need to create a Wi-Fi network using my laptop and an external Nexus Alpha AWS1900 adapter so my camera can connect from roughly 300 yards away and send photos back to my laptop. Any suggestions or ideas would be really helpful. Side note: This adapter is said to offer a longer range, likely letting the camera pick up Wi-Fi up to about 300 yards in open areas. Also, I'm using a Nikon Z6iii.

You should be able to turn off the built-in Wi-Fi adapter through the settings and then provide a hotspot on your laptop.

Snapbridge is known to be slow. Nikon offers a software tool called nikon wireless transmitter utility. It transfers raw photos at around 33MB per shot in half a second, and high-res videos like 5k at 60fps are sent quickly to your laptop folder. It's faster, more dependable, and easier than Snapbridge. Perfect for events where you need to upload and edit photos regularly, such as races or competitions.

I experimented with various methods of switching between the cards. I noticed it once, but I have no idea how to recreate the situation. The hotspot indicated it was still providing Wi-Fi without internet access, which was what I needed. However, when I tried again, I couldn't get it to work. After many attempts, I started thinking it might be a coincidence or an error, and I believe it's not actually possible.

You should simply connect via MyPublicWiFi or a similar network, then turn off internet access on the hotspot device.
