I already own a 5e game but it was limited to around 5Mbps during downloads on Steam. I bought a Cat 7 Ethernet cable to ensure better performance since it was a good offer. Appreciate the tip!

It's almost just a $5 variation. It's not a huge loss at all. I've got some extra cash available.

I wouldn't invest the funds genuinely. Cat 6e provides 2.5G speeds. Mesh Wi-Fi introduces delays, and if the connection quality is weakening, it suggests improper setup or latency adjustments on your PC rather than sufficient bandwidth. Installing fiber outside the server room isn't advisable. The main issue is that while fiber is available, you must also purchase transceivers, network cards, and routing gear—items that are significantly more expensive than a basic Cat 6 cable.

Your connection speeds vary because of network conditions and device capabilities. You're seeing higher speeds without the Ethernet cable likely due to Wi-Fi performance differences, while lower speeds on the wired side may reflect your router's maximum capacity. It’s possible your router is rated for 200Mbps, which can help explain the range.

It's possible your router is being overwhelmed. I've noticed older models, like the WRT54G, often crash during heavy torrents.

Discover the person handling your expenses. Review your invoice or agreement. Determine the age of your modem. It could be quite outdated and malfunctioning. Identify the type of network card you're connected to. Or perhaps it's simply a USB drive.
