Maybe Qualcomm generally performs well, so I shouldn't jump to conclusions about its current performance. They themselves help develop the drivers—I haven't shared anything in the mailing lists yet, since Yahoo can't send plain text emails, maybe I'll try using K-9 on my phone. It's conceivable it isn't as optimal, especially with ath10k being newer, but it's equally likely it's still solid (though you might be missing features like mesh). Samsung likely collaborated with Qualcomm to improve compatibility.
