I should check and mention that your board still needs antennas. They’re usually part of the package if you bought it new. I’m not clear on what a "gift" refers to here, but they’re inexpensive if you need to purchase them. I use short stub antennas at the back of my case. It’s not very fast, but it works when I need to relocate my computer.
