Widespread microstuttering across the system
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new system and have been facing some minor stuttering issues. Initially, I thought it was due to the websites or games I used, but now it seems to affect all applications consistently. It occurs during idle time, especially when scrolling websites, reading text, or playing video content. The stutter lasts only a brief moment before returning to normal, but it's becoming increasingly bothersome. This problem appears across my entire system—Windows 11, Microsoft apps, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and even the desktop. After updating to Windows 11, I suspect the issue might have started on Windows 10 as well.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps: downgrading drivers from version 546.33 to 537.13, changing graphics settings, using integrated graphics, and experimenting with ANGLE tags. None of these solutions resolved the problem. I also noticed that using a different mouse or cable, adjusting screen resolution to 1080p, and enabling Vsync in Nvidia settings didn't help.
My system specs are: Windows 11 4K, LG 27UK670 display, HDMI cable from my PS4, i7-13700 RTX 4070 AERO by Gigabyte, 32GB RAM at 6000MHz, 1TB Samsung NVMe SSD. Despite these details, the stuttering persists and is affecting my ability to use the PC effectively. This situation is really frustrating for me.
It might be due to a faulty display cable. Consider using a different HDMI cable or opting for a newer one, especially if it came with your PS4. It could also be an older model version. Another factor to check is temperature; overheating can worsen the problem and increase CPU heat. Use HWInfo64 to monitor temperatures during idle and under load conditions.
