Wib 11 is constantly trying to make me install something, even though I don't need it right now.
I have this Dell laptop running Windows 10. Every morning when I turn it on, a message pops up saying I need to update to Windows 11. This time, right as I started the computer, two options appeared: download it now or schedule it for later within the next 24 hours. I figured ignoring this wouldn't hurt, so I had to shut down the laptop instead. By the way, it tells me to prepare for a download on my desktop. Why mention the desktop when the update is supposed to go onto the laptop? Anyway, since I am still learning how Windows 10 works, I don't really need Windows 11 yet. If I want to move forward with the upgrade, does that mean it will replace Windows 10 for about 30 days before going back to the old version? Is there a way I can just download it so I can install it later without changing anything right now? Even if I do the download, would I need to make a new hard drive partition?
my popup has skip or cancel. why are you keep asking me this? Question: Is this really possible? My laptop is trying to offer me the install for win 11... but I want it on my desktop, not the laptop. Is there a way to "steer" it to my desktop using external drives? If that won't work, could we just install it here first and then copy it over to an external drive with the end goal being my desktop?
If you own an old computer, consider getting a fresh one or just stop worrying about everything else instead of overthinking it all.
