Wi-Fi printing and Spotify connection issues on the Asus XD6 access point
Hi, I recently changed my wireless configuration from a Unify AP setup to an Asus XD6. I set it up in AP mode for basic access point use. Since switching APs, my Wi-Fi printing stopped functioning. My Canon MF8500C doesn’t support Wi-Fi, but it worked fine with an Ethernet cable for several years. Now, both Windows, Linux, and macOS won’t let me print over Wi-Fi. When I connect the laptop directly via Ethernet, everything works again. I’m puzzled—how could this happen? I checked the router settings thoroughly; there don’t seem to be any unusual firewall rules. Also, Spotify Connect isn’t working over Wi-Fi anymore. On my wired device I can share music without issues, but over Wi-Fi it fails completely. It feels like a firewall issue, yet the router’s display says “AP mode, no firewall.” That seems odd. If anyone else has faced this problem with an Asus Wi-Fi router, please let me know.
Yes, you left the WAN port unconnected and linked all devices to the LAN side, right?
I linked everything to the wan port, yet I can reach my NAS and my local network via Wi-Fi, so... I'm not sure.
I attempted to connect it to the LAN port, and it functioned properly. I was able to view the printer while printing through my iOS device, and AirPlay also worked again. However, after about ten minutes, everything failed once more—no printers listed in the settings.
