I'm feeling quite down, yet many fans enjoy puppey, egm, singsing, s4 and others. Several players have left their teams recently. Could anyone shed some insight into this situation? What might have caused them to make such decisions?

It's typical. I'm not very familiar with Dota, but it's similar to what you see in CS:GO.

Maybe they lost interest or had more responsibilities taking up their time.

It's typical. Similar to football or basketball, teams swap members regularly. Players move for various reasons. KKY and PPY departed due to poor team dynamics. PPY and Xboct can't connect. I lack specific information about SingSing's departure—possibly a disciplinary action. Regarding EGM and S4, they recognized the challenge of carrying Loda consistently. Teams frequently change. In China, player transactions operate much like in football, involving financial exchanges. Such practices aren't common in Europe.

I recall someone left their team because of RSI on their wrists. It means they might lose function in their hand if they don’t stop... that sounds like a solid reason.

Typically, causes for players leaving involve team dynamics, motivation issues, scheduling constraints, or a desire to experiment with alternative roles.

There are several factors at play: finances (another group could offer higher pay), communication (often frequent), motivation (possibly aiming for greater success elsewhere), recognition (joining a more renowned team brings more income through streams), learning (completing education), and career goals.

Previously, a group was usually friends joined with some sponsors competing in events. Now teams are owned by individuals or groups who run them. It's typical for a team to include various game segments such as TeamLiquid, etc. It feels a bit disappointing because it seems unlikely that players will share tournament winnings in the future (just like in traditional sports), instead the owners will take the profits. On the positive side, this could make e-sports more professional and drive its growth further. When you were young, you might have wanted to be a football player, and maybe one day kids will aspire to become professional e-sport athletes.

Heard some mixed reports about S4's situation. It seems he left the Alliance solo during an EGM and faced consequences for communication issues. Puppey also left independently with Kuroky, who is reportedly set to join a new team where Kuroky will handle carrying duties. The team vibe is described as pretty tense.

The same explanation for why football teams acquire new players each season.
