Windows 10 really stands out as the most reliable version I've used. The only downside is the Metro interface feels a bit restrictive. I'd prefer to go back to Windows Classic or Aero.

The main drawbacks would be the occasional random system reset after updates and the update process itself. If downtime on my computer is unavoidable for a few days and I can't delay updates beyond two days, it becomes a problem I'd rather avoid. I don’t really mind privacy concerns because giving up your rights comes with every social media account and internet connection. I’ve been using Windows 7 without any issues for years, so the reasoning is clear—stick with what works unless it stops functioning or becomes obsolete.

This appears to be a notification sent via his email or connected account. The ads shown on the lock screen or start menu are optional and can be disabled. No email or other accounts were linked to his Microsoft account, so he hasn’t received such alerts.
