Why is Windows 10 hated?
I frequently perform regular Windows installations and understand what bothers me most. I struggle to cancel unnecessary software bundles. I must wait for the installation to complete before I can remove them. Previously, a clean Windows setup eliminated all bloatware completely. Now it often leaves behind a large amount of software that can't be fully removed. While I appreciate certain aspects of Windows 10—like having multiple versions—I find the number of optional components significantly reduces its overall value.
In a formal sense, you must execute it during each new build.
With just one Windows 10 setup you might find it funny when issues pop up, but handling thirty installations means a single PC crashes after an update (Microsoft support can only reformat, not fix). Updating every week while employees claim they worked outside hours is frustrating. From various sources I've seen, new Windows 10 releases often cause three or more major crashes during installation. At my workplace engineers explain why default games are installed and add Windows XDD, making the default apps a real headache (it feels like Windows is warning you your default app doesn’t fit). Please explain this huge update frequency—it’s the biggest pain with Windows 10. You can still update when convenient, but imagine needing to switch laptops for a quick project and having them update in an hour (this happened with my boss’s laptop). Updates are really disrupting productivity and managing default apps is a mess (slow mail sync and the worst email client I’ve used). It’s getting worse over time.
I arrived early for my position and noticed my supervisor chatting with Microsoft on his laptop. He mentioned an update issue with Windows that won’t finish updating, pointing out a 8:30 AM error. I explained that the only solution was to format the drive. By 6:00 PM, he said Microsoft couldn’t help and asked me to save my files before formatting. Thanks to Microsoft for their quick thinking!
