Why is the Ryzen 5 5600X so expensive
I haven’t witnessed the steady increase in the 5600x price from $300 to nearly $450 lately. This worries me since I plan to upgrade my CPU soon, but I worry the 5800x might follow the same trend, leaving me unable to afford it. I’m not ready to spend right now because I’m still saving. Anyone know the exact reasons beyond general supply issues? They seem to have been okay before, but recently prices have spiked.
Additionally, my primary reference comes from Amazon, though I believe it occurred on Newegg as well.
It seems only one store is affected, or perhaps the issue lies with their supplier raising prices. If multiple stores are impacted, it might mean they all rely on the same supplier or expect demand to rise. I don't notice a widespread price increase in the US PCPartPicker history.
Amazon and Newegg act as third-party sellers. What appears there isn't always owned by Amazon or its own products. It's like having a marketplace where vendors list items similar to selling on eBay. These variations likely explain the price changes you notice.
I've noticed it mostly on Amazon, though it might also appear on Newegg. I haven't compared prices often enough to confirm.
