What accounts for the lower price of the RTX 2070 compared to the GTX 1080 in the United Kingdom?
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/search/in....99-499.99
Furthermore, they are rapidly becoming unavailable due to high demand—what’s causing this?

A substantial quantity of older Pascal graphics cards (series 10) exists, and retailers are unaware that the excitement surrounding cryptocurrency has diminished, leading to reduced consumer spending on new video cards. Furthermore, a considerable volume of GPUs is being resold online through eBay, negatively impacting the prices of presently available video cards. Nvidia maintains control over the availability and pricing of their new Turing (series 20) cards, but due to the recent issues with Pascal cards, they’ve lost significant control over the suggested retail price for those older models. It appears Nvidia has ceased production of Pascal cards, focusing instead on Turing cards – a factor contributing to the lower supply of 1080 models.

Market forces dictate the outcome, consistently. It seems there’s a shortage of 1080s currently. 😉

A substantial quantity of Pascal graphics cards (series 10) exists, and stores remain unaware that the cryptocurrency boom has diminished, leading to reduced consumer spending on new video cards. Simultaneously, a considerable number of GPUs are being resold on eBay, further decreasing the prices of existing video cards. Nvidia maintains control over the supply and pricing of its new Turing (series 20) cards, but due to the recent upheaval surrounding Pascal cards, they’ve significantly lost their ability to set a consistent MSRP. As far as I know, Nvidia has ceased production of Pascal cards in favor of focusing on Turing cards, which explains the scarcity of 1080 models.
