Why is my Windows 10 installation failing repeatedly?
this problem occurs regularly every 2 to 3 months and has persisted for about a year and a half. whenever i install windows 10, the system starts to break down after a couple of months. i followed the update instructions but didn’t see any improvement. skipping updates seemed to extend the lifespan of my installations. does this affect all machines i use? i tested three different ones, and after about two months they all became unusable, forcing me to reinstall windows 10 each time. even if it were machine-dependent, i could have fixed it. but it keeps happening on every device i own. if it was a hardware issue, would you consider it my responsibility? does this happen to others? i mainly use 3D design software, programming, and various games. i don’t use hdds; i stick with ssds only because hdds cause performance issues under windows. additionally, i’ve faced problems repairing windows 10 using built-in tools like safe mode and sfc scannow—it always reports it’s unsolvable. if you have more details, please share. i’m willing to pay to resolve this, otherwise i’m stuck. thank you for your time.
Your SSD is quite old and its size is unusually large for its age. It might be showing these signs because its internal cells have deteriorated. This could happen more often with low-capacity drives, especially if you frequently install or delete files. However, I’ve used my SSDs for about five years without any issues. To confirm, you could run a tool that checks file integrity and see if the same files appear after updates to Windows 10. If they do, it might point to software problems rather than hardware failure. You could also test your system in a virtual environment or disable certain programs to observe behavior.
It seems like the problem might be linked to a specific software you're using. Focus on the programs you've confirmed were installed on all three computers, then look up each one individually to check for reported issues. There doesn’t appear to be a straightforward solution at the moment.
You've been using the same Windows version on your PC and laptop for about two years without any problems. Could you tell me what hardware you're running it on and how your drives are being handled? It might be that the SSD where you installed the OS is malfunctioning. Try running Crystal Disk Info to check. There could also be software or OS changes affecting this, or you might be modifying the system in a way that's causing the issue. Where exactly do you install Windows 10?
it usually appears after 2 or 3 months. i’m not sure what program it might be, as i’ve tested it on various machines over the past four years. i think it’s probably not related to ssd upgrades since i rarely used them and mostly bought prebuilt systems. should this be okay? i’ve been experiencing these issues with linux, but when i needed compatibility, i’d have to run windows in a virtual machine on linux, which works fine for me. however, i couldn’t achieve a GPU passthru with my rtx 2060.
When the equipment performs significant tasks, you can avoid updating any system to maintain consistent performance. At a minimum, this ensures no interruptions in operations. For tasks needing online access, consider delegating them to a less critical device.
im running my current install on a fairly standard machine.. my cpu is an i5-10400F and my gpu an rtx 2060. the problem is this happened to me with all the machines i ever had an all amd one an i5-6400 one and now this.. so i guess its probably windows or software problem. for burning my isos on my usb i always used a linux machine with proper tools or another windows 10 machine wich i have at home (my bother's pc or my father's ones) wich dont have these problems... like my installs. my father has a windows 10 install wich as kept going for 3 years its incredibly slow with a really good disk integrity and it dosent have anything installed so the disk's free. but it has fair hardware. i used from linux to windows to burn isos but had always the same problem on every machine. i switched usb drives and pen drives different times to see if that was the problem never got anywhere. it wasent the usb drives wich where bad. i tried like 10 or something. always after 3 months got the same problem. the machine corrupted and dident get anywhere.
It seems like you're encountering an issue with a software problem. You might be experiencing errors or instability while running the application.
