Why is my Ubuntu glitching out?
It's functioning in the virtual machine, so... What should we do next? The partition format might be relevant. Since my storage is in GPT and I switch from MBR to GPT when flashing with Rufus, this could be the reason or another factor.
All threads combined here. Let me know if you need anything else.
During the setup on the VM, did you let it perform a guided partition installation and let it handle it automatically to save time? Or did you try to replicate what I think is a manual partition setup? If the OS installed partitions on its own, I’d suggest it do the same for the partition you’re trying to rebuild. I follow a similar approach when working in Linux—I recommend tools like Joe Editor, tmux, and Atom for coding. OHHH! Also, when you mention the program you used to generate the ISO, I’ve had issues before. Using Rufus broke my installs, so I switched to Etcher and it worked better. Depending on the ISO type, both Rufus and Etcher can cause errors. I noticed this with Ubuntu, Esxi, and Pop-OS USB builds.
I'm a bit puzzled about what you're trying to do, so I'm going to pause now to avoid any issues.
It was an oversight on my part, no problem. Apologies for manually configuring the partition—I had the 20GB partition from VirtualBox, which was separate from the 20GB I left for Ubuntu during dual boot. Thanks for the tools; I’ll keep them handy whenever I need them. I’m planning to use VS Code for C and IntelliJ for Java. Maybe I’ll switch to Etcher, but I’m leaning toward using a VM instead and will give up on Rufus. Thanks for the advice!
It wasn't hard at all, it just took me a day to adjust to the new builder. I changed to Etcher and everything installed smoothly without many issues afterward. I'm glad I could assist a bit.
It's fine mate, I don't need to chill any more than what i already do or i'll end up in a coma lol. Maybe If I didn't see the post I probably wouldn't have felt it was directed towards me or something 420 paranoia is serious. Possibly taking the same approach in messaging him direct and discreet as you do for other situations could have avoided that. Appreciate you though for explaining the process.
I quit wasting time and didn’t understand what was happening, but really appreciate the help. I chose to use a VM for simplicity, let me just say it worked well.
