Why is my FPS low on fn and other games despite having similar specs? I'm getting many stutters, but others with the same setup run smoothly. Can someone assist me?

Hey there,
Your setup seems pretty old and basic. Still, it might work for some older games. You might want to begin by adding at least 16gbs of RAM. Make sure you have sufficient space and leave some room for future upgrades while gaming.

I'm attempting to run with specific settings and a particular resolution.

The DRAM you have consists of two 4GB modules or is it one 8GB module?
Is your operating system running on an SSD?
Are your games installed on an SSD?
Have you verified if the CPU or GPU is overheating?
There are many possible issues affecting performance, so without detailed information about your system it's challenging to give precise advice.

With only 8gbs of ram, you'll consume roughly 2-4gbs just for windows. After that, your pagefile/swap or virtual file will be used as memory, which is quite slow. This explains the stuttering.
@thestryker
That's a valid observation. Using an SSD for your boot and gaming drives would improve performance. It would make games load quicker, and while it doesn't significantly change FPS, your swap file would run faster compared to an HDD.
What are the typical temperatures for CPU and GPU during gameplay?
Your CPU might also reach its maximum capacity, which can lead to issues too.

I noticed videos showing people playing the same game with identical specifications. Are they adjusting their settings? Have they performed any overclocking? Is there any thermal throttling occurring on your side? Do you have background processes consuming those resources?
