Hello, I observed some vintage CPUs such as AMD Duron 1300, AMD Athlon 2000+ and Intel Celeron 566. The die color on the Celeron has changed to a dark blue. Could anyone explain why this occurred? I’m not sure it was a factory defect. Also, could you share details about these processors—like their intended use or performance level? I’m unfamiliar with older models like these. Please let me know if you have more photos of the Celeron, and thank you for your help.

Seems fine at first glance. However, the Duron and Athlon XP are clearly gone because significant sections are missing from the edges and sides.

It seems like you're confirming the colour is acceptable.

They both show identical wear marks, yet their circuits remain in good condition. It's possible the issue lies further within the system.

The appearance in photos doesn’t match what you see face-to-face. I checked an online version and noticed a difference in the mirror effect compared to the expected one. Here’s how it compares to another chip I’m familiar with. I might be mistaken, but the CPU seems fine—just without any test results to confirm.

Might result from oxidation over time? Not certain

It seems the methods applied vary between eras, making direct comparisons misleading

All images I've encountered feature a blue die.

It's a frequent issue due to coolers being installed unevenly under intense pressure. I'm not planning to use the AMD chips unless I confirm they're top-of-the-line, but I'm looking to run a Celeron on an older Windows 98 system.
