I'm struggling to understand why my Geekbech 6 is scoring so low. My brother has a 7900x that consistently outperforms mine every time with the same cooler and case. What's going on? I don't see any throttling, and I've tried different cases. My specs are: CPU Ryzen 7950x, cooler Noctua NH-D15, RAM Corsair DOMINATOR DDR5 64GB, GPU RTX 3080 at 5200MHz.

The chip consumes a significant amount of power during both tests. You might be using an off-brand PSU that isn’t delivering enough power. If your gaming performance drops due to low power from your 3080, the issue likely lies with the PSU.

Verify your PC isn't in power-saving mode. In the BIOS, check the speed shown before launching Windows to confirm CPU settings are proper. The motherboard's CPU settings should offer options you likely don't need to change—just compare the reported speed with what's listed. If it matches, the issue might be software-related.

It's a solid component, widely favored in Asia and available from UK overclockers.

The chipset drivers and BIOS update seem likely. RAM and storage speed might also play a role. A hard drive can significantly impact a modern CPU's performance.

Check BIOS version and download the most recent chipset driver for BIOS 1.18.
