It seems the CPU is running at 35%, which suggests something is limiting its performance, especially in games. There aren't any faster CPUs available right now. Unless your CPU or GPU is overheating significantly, you might want to remove the second card, check for heat buildup, and reinstall the NVIDIA driver.
I discovered the solution. I checked many forums and noticed several people faced the same problem. I came across a user who tried installing Windows 7 to test, then switched back to Windows 10. They reported that the Razer drivers were causing issues. After completely removing them, everything worked perfectly. If anyone knows another program besides Razer that allows changing DPI, it would be helpful. Thanks for your assistance!
Razer's construction quality raises concerns and their software isn't reliable. You don't have to invest much to find a solid mouse. In fact, Razer doesn't offer products as inexpensive as my favorite model (g300). When checking for CPU limitations, turn off SMT/HT settings in your BIOS and view detailed core performance in your CPU monitoring tool. If a game struggles on just a few cores and doesn't fully utilize the others, it won't appear in your overall load averages. And if SMT/HT is causing confusion, it might be hiding the issue from your individual core reports. I'm hesitant to ask what specific CPU model you're dealing with...
Adjust your mouse preferences in Windows. Press the Windows key, then type "Mouse" to locate the Mouse Settings. Click on advanced mouse settings where you can modify options like mouse speed. Additionally, you can customize mouse settings within specific games via the controls menu under game settings.
I believe the mouse needs built-in software to adjust its resolution independently of Windows. My Logitech Mouse supports this feature.
I truly needed a different CPU since it was reaching 100% with the new monitor and struggling to run games at 144fps. The i5-8500 is decent, but I didn’t want to let it sit unused—I had to sell it. Additionally, I purchased a rival 700 from Steelseries; it came with a solid mouse and some fun features like rumble effects and a black-and-white LED display.
I recently purchased a different mouse instead of using the Razer model. I was trying to configure DPI, knowing Windows can affect speed and games might be impacted, but I believe that’s not changing the mouse’s DPI. Also, you can’t set it to a specific DPI—it’s just a scaling factor without a fixed reference. Thanks for your assistance!
