It seems Google aimed to develop a restricted operating system similar to Apple's iOS for professional use. The issue arises because the Chrome app store offers few popular, functional applications.

These are lightweight Linux operating systems created for basic hardware. My mom owns one and enjoys using it for online games.

It's developed by Google. Their business model focuses on increasing revenue through their search engine and products. Most of their offerings are web-based due to this strategy. Many users experience limited storage options, which pushes them toward using web applications, especially those from Google. This explains the continued reliance on Chromebooks and Chrome devices despite outdated hardware like 128GB SSDs. The Nexus line lacks expandable storage, discouraging manufacturers from including it. They aim for you to rely heavily on services like Google Drive. It's also why high-capacity storage solutions are still rare.

It's not designed for you. That's all. It's built for those seeking an affordable machine.

These laptops aren't built for heavy users. Admitting it, most folks stick to Chrome for browsing. Why not craft an OS tailored for Chrome? Google developed this to serve users who want something straightforward, secure, and user-friendly. It's significantly tougher to infect malware on a Chromebook compared to a Windows PC. For those who mainly browse the web, Chromebooks are ideal. But for power users like you, they don't fit the bill.

However, you also offer comparable pricing for Windows setups... performance is strong, especially with Windows 8 and even better with Windows 10 enhancements.
