I removed the cache yet YouTube still struggles with smooth playback on a 25 Mbps connection, causing stutters, dropped frames, and lag across most videos, including 720p. Internet Explorer works without these issues.

Verify your CPU activity. Is it consuming too much space? Disable unnecessary applications to restore availability.

I understand, I've been experiencing some issues recently too. It's quite frustrating.

I support 4K and 1080p at 60fps, just fine on Chrome—check your settings.

I handle 1080p videos smoothly in Chrome, haven't explored 1440p much. But when attempting 4K content, the frames begin to fail after about a minute—down to 60 Mb/s.

CPU utilization sits around 40%, with roughly 35% attributed to Chrome. This occurs during a 4K full-screen session on a 1440p display, while Task Manager is the only other process running. The CPU fan isn’t overheating, memory usage is near 60%, and no other applications are at maximum. It seems the issue isn’t hardware-related. I’m using Drive and Hangouts as my sole active extensions.

Due to the browser, performance is limited. The only notable alternative is Firefox, though its interface isn't ideal. We're currently using cgrome. I can stream videos at 720p or 1080p on a 5.5 Mbps connection—checking for active extensions might help.
