It would be better to adopt OpenOffice because it would reduce costs for schools if they avoid paying for it. Students wouldn't need to spend over $100 on homework, and OpenOffice can open Microsoft Word files if anyone uses it. Schools shouldn't rely solely on Microsoft Word and should consider switching to OpenOffice instead.

Having tested both options, IMO Word remains the superior choice. Schools operate as enterprises, enabling them to secure favorable bulk pricing on software suites such as Microsoft Office.

Due to issues and lack of assistance, your institution plans to purchase licenses in bulk. They won’t charge close to £75 for each copy.

They must have both of these things: I’m tired of relying on my dad’s old Windows Vista machine.

It dates back a long time. My Core i7 keeps working with Vista because I genuinely enjoy that operating system.

Microsoft provides Office tools at no cost to schools, yet they still offer these products at a similar price point. The reasoning behind this strategy isn’t clear from the information given.

This involves schools adopting OpenOffice, allowing students without Microsoft Office access to use it at home for schoolwork. Teachers can also open these documents using OpenOffice.
