Why does this happen?
I submitted this question earlier today on Saturday and just verified if I received a reply, but I couldn’t locate my original post. After searching thoroughly, I haven’t found any updates about it. If it was moved to another forum, I wasn’t notified. To avoid repeating myself, I’ll try again now. Recently, I attempted to install Firefox and Thunderbird on my laptop at various times. When preparing for the installation, I received a message stating all my apps had been moved or removed due to a system reset. This occurred for both applications at different moments. Could someone clarify why I would see such a notification just to install a program? I have Windows 11 Pro as an update from Windows 10 Pro. Additionally, how can I retrieve those apps and keep them installed?
Occasionally, Microsoft removes non-Microsoft applications during updates on pro installs. This occurs regularly on my wife's computer.
Is it due to recent changes? I believed I received the last update several weeks ago. No matter, how can I regain those apps and keep them intact? How can I install the programs without losing them again?
You have no choice but to reinstall them.
Microsoft manages Windows on your device, not the user.
Updates will persist, meaning this situation will likely remain or worsen.
