Why does Steam have a maximum download speed of 170 Mbps?
Actually, it's cool that it looks good on paper, but the real problem is bigger because there are way more devices using the same chip than anyone can actually give it to. The factory only makes so many addresses, yet they keep making far too many units in a single year. This forces them to reuse old chips over and over. Also, if you look at smaller groups based on who builds them for, it gets even harder. I remember back when I worked there; we planned to use the MAC address for tracking things like laptops. But then someone found out that some of our addresses were actually the same as others. If you only buy 100 laptops, you might not notice the issue. But if a company buys 10,000 in one year, they definitely end up with duplicates.
