Why does firefox get so laggy overtime?

Do you have 6000 extensions installed? Computers tend to slow down as files accumulate. Clearing cache and temporary files can help, but for best results, reinstall the operating system and format the drive regularly to prevent any performance issues and keep your PC in top shape.

Likely due to the cache getting full. Reinstalling should probably help, though I can't confirm since I'm not a FireFox user.

It works fine, the system is about four years old. The 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro isn't that low.

Not the speedbrah, perhaps they meant the 8GB just gets full rather than slow.

Firefox uses roughly 200MB, which is fine at 1.7GB or 7.8GB. After reinstalling, everything seemed intact—tabs, cookies, etc.—but I’m wondering if it’s safe to delete it now.

Turn off the smooth scrolling option or whatever it's called. Since I don't have Firefox, check the settings.
