Since its release, people have mainly complained about Windows 8, expressing disappointment and frustration. Personally, I find it works well and runs smoothly. I don’t rely on the Metro interface, yet you still don’t need it!

8.1 would be perfect if I weren't so lazy—I'd have chosen it right away. The interface seems really sleek and contemporary.

I've faced some problems with it in past and current titles. Just a handful, but it's still bothering me. I'm considering returning to W7 since... it's amazing. Otherwise, I'm completely fine with it.

It took me about four months to adjust, but after getting used to skipping the standard start button, I really like it now.

It's great. Folks are tipsy, uninformed, and have never really worked with Windows 8. They just shout, "OMG IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP. WHAT'S WITH ALL THE TILE GRID ICONS?!" Even the task manager seems to be enough for now.

Sure, I understand. The main issue is being unable to run Flight Simulator X on Windows 8. Thinking about installing Windows 7 might be a good idea!

I rarely rely on the start menu on Windows 7. Most of the tools I require are available via a quick desktop shortcut, and I use Windows Explorer for file management. Why bother with the start button?

There seems to be an issue with your PC. Flight Sim X functions properly on my Windows 8 setup.

Issues were resolved using version 8.1 and the classic start method. My performance improved noticeably—5 frames per second for 7 to 8, and 2 frames per second from 8 to 8.1. (In TF2, which is quite impressive, I’m currently around 40 fps.)
