It might seem strange, but it’s quite pleasant if the system isn't glitching. I typically grip my PlayStation 4 controller in my left hand and utilize all the shoulder buttons, alongside the central button, for maneuvering and various functions. Simultaneously, I employ my mouse in my right hand to control viewing angles and numerous other actions.

I’ve found that when utilizing the directional controls (WADS) in conjunction with mouse-based viewing, everything operates as anticipated. However, when moving utilizing the gamepad while simultaneously attempting to view using the mouse, the experience becomes noticeably erratic. Specifically, the left stick should only be designated for movement, not direction of sight, yet the screen exhibits tremors as if these two control schemes are in conflict.

Furthermore, within *No Man’s Sky*, holding the L2 button activates scan mode, and pressing R2 initiates the scanning process—a continuous state when L2 is held. Conversely, clicking with the mouse produces a distinct on/off/on/off rapid-fire effect.

Could you shed some light on the cause of this peculiar inconsistency? I'm utilizing a PlayStation 4 controller with Windows 10, and playing Steam titles such as *NMS*, *Portal*, and *Mass Effect*. My graphics card currently has limited video memory—only 2GB—and I’m planning an upgrade, so I play at 720p with reduced settings.

I have created a video demonstrating this issue, which you can view at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1Jprnl59Hc. The video showcases a transition between keyboard/mouse control, gamepad and mouse, and then back to WADS/mouse at the video’s conclusion. I have edited it on YouTube to remove unnecessary segments, though the editing process may take some time.

Combining two elements not intended for concurrent operation can result in unexpected behavior. Observe this configuration on a separate device to understand its functionality. Perhaps utilizing a mouse featuring an expanded number of buttons and employing those buttons in place of the controller would be advantageous.

Explore the Steam settings panel and adjust the toggles for “Steam controller,” “generic controller,” “Xbox,” and other options. I remember experiencing a comparable problem within Steam, and as far as I remember, the generic setting provided the most effective solution.

Hey, I was just pondering—does a mouse exist with an external joystick?

That's actually the solution to your inquiry. I’m a big fan of analog sticks and buttons for navigating and controlling movement.

Indeed, there is. Laughing, I'm catching up on this technology now, it seems.
