Why does a Bluetooth TV detect some headphones while others don't? This issue also occurs with computers. How can you determine if a Bluetooth device is discoverable before purchasing it? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

There exist various Bluetooth versions. Compatibility is usually the main concern. Even devices from the same version can face compatibility problems.

Maybe there are some TS, TRS, TRRS mismatches...
In a note:

Wiki lists six versions of Bluetooth, with 4.0 to 4.2 being typical for older devices, 5.0 to 5.4 for newer models, and the newest being Bluetooth 6.0 to 6.2.
