It could consume significant computer resources, but it provides solid protection, doesn't it?

The goal is to balance protection with efficiency, not just block every risky site. Overloading the system isn’t about safety—it’s about performance and longevity. Your tablet works best when it runs smoothly, not just as a shield.

Its safeguards are solid, yet it feels overly restrictive. Numerous window options are disabled, such as UAC, due to Norton’s influence, and it can react too strongly when removing files you’ve saved. Honestly, Windows Defender has performed well and is free, so I don’t see much value in Norton unless you’re spending hours browsing porn daily.

It embeds itself heavily within your system settings, consuming resources even when idle. It’s unnecessary to run such a resource-intensive tool; alternatives like Nod32 offer lighter performance without sacrificing security.

The issue starts with the initial portion of your message. To tackle the second part, there are alternatives that require fewer resources—simple solutions often work just as well.

It seems you're suggesting it's time to move on from this idea since better options exist. Recently, things have improved, though.

It consumes significantly more memory than any other, which explains this. Providing solid protection is beneficial. However, how does it affect the computer's speed? That should be satisfactory. It won't perform well unless you remove the Norton.
