Hello, For few days I have a strange behaviour on my laptop and can't find any help on google. When I launch a game, I have a ~4 minutes delay before it actually starts. During this time my PC is not slow or underpowered and I can quickly navigate to other software or my browser. BUT, if I make any actions (like to go to another url, open a folder explorer window or start another application) they will all run at once, later, when the game starts. I don't play a lot of different games, but I tried with : LoL : the launcher is fine, but when a game start, I have the issue. Halo Infinite : issue happening when starting the game Marvel Snap : no issue (maybe because this a not really a 3D fullscreen game?) Do you have any clue on what's happening? PS : I am not sure to the thread is in the correct section, sorry about that.

Hey Sonofjesse, here are the details you asked for: video link is at this place... I am just starting a League of Legends game. The first 30 seconds go fast because it's loading on the launcher and everything looks smooth. But after that, while waiting about three minutes, I can use Steam, interact with things, go back to my desktop screen, and click LoL Launcher again. However, when those special panels pop up like the "Nvidia Control Panel" or a quick shortcut, they only appear once the game actually starts running. Finally, the game begins loading very quickly. Here are all the computer specs I have: another link is at this place... Let me know if you need more help!

I remember having similar issues with windows 7 too. Reinstalling seemed to work for me, but you might try fixing the Windows files or using system restore because I wasn't very experienced back then. Open "cmd" in the search bar at Windows and right-click on Command Prompt. Then select Run as administrator. Type this command: SFC /scannow (make sure there is a space between "SFC" and "/scannow") and hit Enter.

Hey GF LAW LESS, thanks so much for your tip! But it didn't solve my problem. On the first run, Windows found some weird stuff and fixed things. Then I rebooted, ran the command again, and no more issues. But when I start a game, nothing happens 🙁 I also checked how my CPU, GPU, RAM, and disk were using resources during those 3 or 4 minutes. But there was nothing; everything was low and the graphics stayed flat.

Hey, try running Windows Memory diagnostics or download MemTest and put one on a USB stick if you have one. Then check your memory for errors. This thing is about processes so I am saying it only started less than a week ago? Has anything happened before that like a Windows update perhaps? Right click on Windows (Start Button) and Open Device Manager - do you see any question marks there? I remember had the same issue but it was so long ago I forgot how I fixed it lol Edit - Try to boot into safe mode and see if the problem still shows up with internet access

Thanks for all your help! Here are the results: no problem with memory tests in Windows. No question marks showing up in Device Manager. Safe mode didn't fix anything either. Yes, there was a Windows update right before I started having trouble... but removing it made no difference 🙁 Maybe I'll have to restart my computer 🙁

You should check out the Windows forums first. If they don't work, maybe it's just a broken update and you're stuck there 😔

Hey there, sorry to hear that! When I restarted my computer, the problem kept coming back. Does this make any sense? Maybe reinstalling Windows fixed some stuff, or did I mess up during reinstallation? Could this be a hardware thing instead of software?

Sorry to hear that. Did you use the same copy of Windows before? This might be the right link for you: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-b...dd409c4f95 All I can think about is drive problems, but that doesn't make much sense because things will behave differently anyway. Did you test it before updates or only after? Make sure to install updates one by one. Don't let Windows do this for you automatically because some updates need other updates first, and if one fails or gets messed up during the install, the next one might break everything too. So you'll get an issue. Uncheck "Get recommended updates" for all your computer parts except the ones from Microsoft. Some updates aren't fully compatible with your laptop's hardware. Always trust the manufacturer; Windows often messes this up a lot. Same thing goes for Windows distributions: if you don't have it on Microsoft's official site, get it there. And no, I don't think it's about hardware, but checking your system drive won't hurt. HDD Sentinel is quick to do that and gives detailed info about all your drives' health. Good luck! Keep us in the loop
