Why do I get Bad Performance with Good PC Specs?
PC Specs:
- i7 6700k (4Ghz) (4 years old)
- RTX 2070 Super OC 1905MHz (New)
- 16GB RAM (3yrs old)
I play games such as CS:GO,Rust,PUBG,Valorant but all of the games I have a problem with FPS. It is not that I don't get enough its just I should be getting more than I am. I have turned of V-Sync in NVIDIA Control Panel and that doesn't fix the problem. I thought it was a CPU bottleneck but apparently according to some people its not. In games like rust, I get a max of 60fps which is playable but i should get more. In Valorant I only get 170fps with low/medium settings on when I now I should be getting way more with my pc specs.
All my drivers are updated on my GPU. I have turned V-Sync off. I just can't find a solution to the problem. I don't know if its the game or not but in all games my GPU usage never goes past 40-45% usage and CPU never goes past 60% usage while in-game.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could you tell me if you bought the RAM as a complete kit with two 8GB sticks, or did you combine two separate 8GB sticks? Also, have you checked the CPU pins on the motherboard to make sure they’re not bent?

Looking at the benchmark linked above, it looks like there is a problem with my RAM. In the BIOS it says it is running in Single Channel and I have enable the XMP option that User-benchmark recommend but the low performance persisted even have changing it to their recommendation. However, there was a 20-30% performance increases after I enabled the XMP option on the RAM

I’ve put my two memory sticks in the third and fourth RAM slots – they're the ones on the right. When I’ve tried using the left-hand slots, though, the computer just won’t turn on; Windows doesn’t even get started.
