Why can't Linux people just use Windows?
Why can't Linux people just use Windows?
This might seem naive but it stems from their lack of understanding about what consumers need. I have a slight preference for Ubuntu, though I can't rely on it every day. I tend to use many Windows-only programs instead of Linux. I don’t have any issues with Linux or OS X users, but when they start shouting "o mi os is better!11!11!!!!!111!!!1", I just tune them out.
Sure, I appreciated your comment. It seems Ubuntu stands out to you despite being a bit mainstream.
Varied approaches suit different people. Let that idea about Linux affect how you see users be wrong; it’s not all about the tinkerer who wants to understand the inner workings. If you aim to produce content effectively, Windows remains a solid choice at least until OSX support expands for Linux. Once that happens, Windows may become less relevant. For servers, NAS devices, or media PCs, Linux delivers impressive performance. You can accomplish many tasks using Unix and Linux that would otherwise require expensive retail equipment and software.
Honestly, if I could spare some time, I’d explore other Linux distributions. Right now, I just don’t have the time to deal with drivers and commands like before.
It's described as "more secure" since people don't seem interested in making viruses.
Hey, it’s tough sometimes but that person really messed with me... kind of similar to how my ex messed up Revenge for me. I try to stay positive, but I really want it to be Windows every time I open it. Still, I keep using Ubuntu on a machine I never touch.
Cause I hate Windows and all of its F**ing problems that hold me back from being productive. Linux isn't perfect either, but I get so frustrated using Windows at times(stares at laptop across the room with a "limited" wifi connection, even though the wifi works just fine). I like that I can tinker with things without having to "mod" it(like I have 6 workstations on my current laptop, no mods required. Windows on the other hand...). Really there is no difference between the two, just 3rd party support varies. Edit: Oh yeah, and the spying thing that Microsoft recently loves... Edit#2: And forced updates.... and their BS policies with product keys...
