I notice your stock speed is 1700, but there appears to be additional room in the MSI afterburner settings that could allow for higher performance, though you can't adjust it directly. HELP!

They shouldn't be trying to modify the IGPU settings this way. The extra space in MSI afterburner is part of how the software was built, not a real performance indicator.

These safeguards exist mainly to prevent overheating. What are your temperatures during operation? Which cooler would you recommend?

my gpu performance is solid with 35 frames per second when idle and about 50 during gameplay.

don't overclock your iGPU with MSI AFTERBURNER unless you're sure, just open bios, turn on igpu oc, and set it to turbo mode or extreme. it will boost your iGPU frequency by 100 or 200mhz safely.

You're asking why you're doing it anyway? It's unlikely to make much difference. To boost GPU performance, you need a dedicated GPU. iGPUs aren't suitable for your needs.
