This video highlights some impressive mechanics at 2:36. Here are the points you asked about:

1. Why aren't these animations common in games like Battlefield?
2. Could every object in a game be made destructible like this one?
3. How would 2,108 TIs handle such a game?
4. What mathematical techniques are used to create these effects?
5. What’s the real issue? Why haven’t we had this before? If a massive GPU existed, would it work?

Yes, it would be quite slow. Rendering such detailed physics animations can take a long time, and playing a game at just one frame per minute would make it feel very laggy.

It seems developers haven't reached a stage where games can fully mimic real-world behavior. How long would it take to build such features, plus the required hardware? It doesn't seem worth their effort.

We lack items like this since 99.9% of people's games wouldn't function properly, for example, when running a scene at 2:36 with high resolution such as 1440p or 4K and 1080i. It’s likely you’d see single-digit frame rates in an interactive game with that level of destructibility. Simulations handle this because they don’t have background processes running simultaneously, unlike games where hundreds of tasks occur at once.

Wouldn't it be better to have a single function that handles everything? That way, you can reuse the code and keep things consistent. For example, creating lava now sets its behavior, and then you can apply it wherever needed.

The process requires a huge computational effort and is currently not feasible for real-time execution.

They need to perform those actions for almost every part of the game. If the game is large with varied landscapes like Shadow of Mordor or similar titles, it would be extremely time-consuming.

It’s not overly complex as long as it’s human-centered. It’s completely clear and achievable to grasp, right? No particular names of math were mentioned.
