High-quality 1080p videos require significantly more storage compared to basic scripts. Since most pre-rendered content is created at 720p, using a 720p version for a 1080p scene will appear inconsistent. Resident Evil 4 utilized quick-time events with pre-rendered clips.

Never tried the fourth one, I’m sure it’s even trickier and oddly designed than a scripted quick-time sequence in the game engine.

due to the way it's displayed, some appear low resolution even though the source is higher quality (currently Rainbow Six Siege, at least the tutorial clips).

Absolutely disrupts the experience. Live-action footage was heavily incorporated into several titles during the CD era—like Phatasmagoria.

Imagine cut-scenes would seem awkward if a character didn’t wear matching clothing or armor.

They occupy a lot of room, making the file either very large or requiring significant compression that may noticeably reduce its quality.

It's better to create it live instead of saving it as a video. If you save it that way, you might need real-time rendering. When players get enough frames per second in the game, they should be fine for these moments too, since they won't be actively interacting. As mentioned before, keeping the same gear and weapons helps maintain consistency.
