Hi everyone, I'm having a weird problem with my new computer. I hope the community can help me out. Even though Steam downloads are super fast and other speed tests show good speeds, when downloading from certain websites or sites like NordVPN, I get very slow speeds (around 300kb/s). I get about 20 MB/s on Steam but thought some internet download was also pretty quick, yet the NordVPN installer download in Firefox is slow too. It's the same issue with Stellseries Engine downloads. I don't have any idea what to look for or where this mismatch comes from. I even tried different browsers, and Edge had the same slow download speeds.

Spoiler: Some technical details
Connection speed (Download/Upload): 1000/1000 Mbps
Primary DNS Suffix: fritz.box
Manufacturer: Realtek
Description: Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller Driver Version: 1125.13.424.2023

Hope someone knows how to fix it. Any advice, technical insights, or similar experiences would be really helpful. I look forward to your suggestions and thank you in advance! Best regards

Your internet speed isn't just about your machine or your phone company; it depends mostly on what that remote server lets you get. Not many servers have enough power to keep all of us connected quickly, no matter how fast we hope they can go.

After looking more closely, I figured the trouble started because my WiFi turned on by itself. It turns out that being on made my wired (Ethernet) link act up. I think this fix will help people who have had the same problem. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
