Why are my ZIP files all messed up? How do I make them work again?
I have some data saved in Zip files. A few weeks ago, I tried moving these files from one computer to another. Something went wrong during that transfer. The numbers inside my new Zip file don't match what they used to be. I guess the files got damaged or messed up somewhere along the way. Could anyone please tell me why this happened and show me how to fix it? I really need your help with this problem.
To fix this, just find where your original files are saved and run a new copy step there. Here is a tip: if you use 7zip software, it can check many zip files at once instead of one by one. You should do that on your original copy, not the changed version.
What does this mean? It's missing too much info to tell where it went wrong. How did the zip file move from one place to another? Did someone use a USB drive, or maybe an email message? Could I just try moving the same zip on my old computer to see if that helps?
To fix this problem, just find where your original files are and start over with a fresh copy. If you use the 7-zip software, try checking more than one file at once instead of doing it step by step. It's better to do that check on a clean set of copies from the beginning.
