Check the temperatures and consider replacing the CPU cooler if they aren't dropping. Does your case include a case fan?

I didn't just tidy up the CPU cooler and heatsink since there was a lot of dust buildup. Now I'm idling around 40 to 45 degrees, and basic stuff like Chrome open seems to be working fine.

When the temperature drops, everything works well. Regularly dust your computer for better performance.
