I found the same memory module listed for my region. I'm curious about why it's being promoted there specifically.
Well, these are lower-frequency memory ICs whose origin is unclear (possibly SK Hynix). Examining 16-18-18 timings at a modest speed requires 1.35V. The cost range makes this type of memory quite appealing. AliExpress offers comparable options with aluminum heat spreaders and LEDs for around $70 (USD). It seems the 3200MHz models also share similar timing characteristics and are priced similarly. It’s likely the 3000MHz version could easily run at 3200MHz or even higher based on voltage scaling and timing adjustments. I’ve noticed some Corsair products with questionable timing setups at the same frequency, but they seem to target the CL 16 lineup—running 16-20-20 at 3000MHz and priced similarly to the Gloway. These would likely be excellent choices for a budget project.
In reality, this component was manufactured by Changxin Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. in Hefei, China, not by Hynix. Currently, it represents the most affordable variant. The default configuration includes 2400C16 with an OC of 3600C17 (Intel), and supports overclocking up to 4000MHz on AMD platforms.
Thank you for the details. I appreciate the simple design and lack of heatsinks—it makes cooling easier. Could you let me know the top model currently offered?
