Who Games on Linux?
It's interesting to see the numbers, but I don't have exact figures. Many users play Linux, especially for gaming, though some might not share much about it online.
I use Debian 7.4 x64. It works well with my I3 laptop. I enjoy playing CS:Source, Half Life 2, and L4D2.
I play on Linux and use WINE when possible. Once the games are optimized, they perform better than on Windows because there’s less underlying software to handle. Check out Linux Mint, or try OpenTTD if you have a very old computer.
Linux Mint is a great choice for enjoying openTTD. It would be nice if SteamOS included more titles from Debian/GNU repositories, which would expand the game selection and make it simpler for users to access less-known Linux games. Adding these to the F2P section would be beneficial.
I play on Linux, it hasn't been my usual routine lately. I mainly rely on Linux Mint and Ubuntu 14.04LTS for gaming. I use WINE to run native titles. I notice better performance when I play in Linux, especially seeing high FPS in Skyrim on Linux Mint.
