White and green illumination (VGA and boot mode)
White and green illumination (VGA and boot mode)
I assembled this machine in December 2023. Only the graphics card and power supply were new. When I first powered it up, I saw white and green lights (VGA and boot). I followed a tutorial and managed to resolve the issue. I experimented with installing my second graphics card while the system was running (though that seemed unnecessary). I repeated this process 3-4 times and each time it would prompt to insert the power cable before starting. However, on the fifth attempt, the PC shut down completely. After removing the second card, I tried launching the system but received no display. I checked forums and thought it might have damaged my motherboard. I sent it to RMA, received a replacement, but the problem persisted. After clearing my disks, only white light remained. My monitor stays dark, and it doesn’t display anything when using HDMI. Also, pressing F1 on my keyboard caused the PC to restart only once. Someone mentioned I might have entered BIOS, but I can’t see it. I tried two monitors plus different cables—DP and HDMI—and a stick of RAM. The CMOS updated the BIOS, which started the PC without a USB or PSU cable for the GPU. I changed the PCIe slot to an i5 13600K CPU, used a ROG Strix Z690-D4 motherboard (5 years old), and GPUs 3050 and 1050 Ti. Since I suspect the PSU is faulty (E tier), do you know if there’s a way to make it work with all the details I provided? I’m only able to get a GPU in about 1-2 weeks, so I still have time to try something. Is it a GPU or PSU issue? Thanks for your help, I used Google Translate too.
