while practicing with the mouse and keyboard
recently moved from ps4 to pc and began playing on a pc. i'm working on getting better at using the mouse and keyboard. i'm starting with low sensitivity settings and it's working well for me. i'm currently playing apex legends at 400 dpi with a 2.2 game scale. i notice myself getting better with hip fire, but with ads i feel like i'm moving too much. is it my sensitivity or my technique that's off? when playing at low sensitivity, do people who use their arm to turn around with it but only track ads with their wrist? in fire fights where i lose most of the time, i can't recall what i was doing wrong. maybe i'm using too much arm for tracking instead of wrist, which could cause me to over-shoot.
This appears to be a detailed inquiry about mouse versus joystick usage in gaming. I can only discuss general aspects of this comparison, as it may not be applicable here. The benefit of using a mouse rather than joysticks lies in the ability to position selection points directly without relying on vector or velocity adjustments. It’s unclear how hand or arm movement techniques will function similarly with joysticks. Regarding sensitivity, it seems to depend on a balance between precision and range—lower sensitivity reduces the distance needed to move the mouse but requires more precise pixel-level adjustments.
